Soaking in the Ganpati fervour, savoring the modaks and hopping presence in the home turned temples, eagered by the Ganesh jis trunks placement, my curious bone inside me activated. To my rescue, like always Shri Guru Rajan ji, let me a vivid understanding of the same. Ganesh jis trunk signifies the energy channel that makes the major life force - prana. We understand through nadis that means a tube, pipe and are a part of the astral body. Nadis run alongside the nervous system and spread out into finer channels that reach every part of the body. ... just like a trunk that has the capacity to move in all directions. As mentioned by the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and Goraksha Samhita, of the 72,000 nadis, Ida, Sushama and Pingla are the main that we associate with Ganesh jis trunk. These three nadis connect all the chakras in the chakra system.  Ida Nadi (the left channel) originates in the Muladhara Chakra represents the feminine part of the entity and is also known as Chandra Nadi. It promotes feelings, love, and attachment. Pingala Nadi (the right channel) originates in the root chakra and represents the masculine part of the being and is also known as Surya Nadi. It promotes perception, discrimination, and reason.  Shushumna Nadi (the central channel) runs straight up the spine from below the root chakra to the crown chakra. The Nadi of spiritual elevation, for most, this Nadi remains dormant as they do not seek out their spiritual existence. The idols with trunks in different postures of Ganesh ji connotate different meanings. As we breathe, between  the two nostrils, one is more active. The trunk of Ganesh ji  towards the left side is Ida or Chandra-influenced. Breathing through the left nose means an active Ida thatll find the day calm and steady. Likewise, gracing your space with the idol of Ganesh jis  trunk on the left side of the house brings joy, tranquility and fortune to the house. The trunk of Ganesh ji bent towards the left side is influenced by the Sun. Breathing through the right nose means that our Pingala nadi is activated thatll find the day ahead full of zeal.   Reverring through proper Vedic rituals, Ganesh jis idol whose trunk is bent towards the right, invokes mighty blessings and denotes surplus might. As your breath moves equally through both nostrils i.e. when your right and left nostrils move equally, you are in the Sushumna state. Ganesh jis idol with a straight trunk is Sushumna. Soaking in the grace of Lord Ganesh ji  in Sushumna state, you invoke the grace of Riddhi Siddhi and Moksha. Considered best for Kundalini awakening, Ganesh ji in Sushuma state is good when you embark upon a strict spiritual journey and aim at  getting away from the trap of birth and death. Living in a family (grihastha), you work errands to earn the livelihood and wish to enjoy the creature comforts of life, succeed at professional front, besides keeping  good health and wishing to realize prosperity and a happy family life. Bathing in pure devotion, it is adviced to invoke a tranquil life, like the cool of Moon and abundant resources. For the same, home, office should be graced with an Ida influenced Ganesh jis idol. Whereas, Pingla influenced Ganesh jis idol effects might and power, that is more suitable for places wherein mass benevolence is the aim or activities that call for herculean energy. But, it must be noted that Pingla influenced Ganesh jis idol must be revered as per vedic rituals. For only when the energy is channelised right, it manifests the heartfelt. Ida, Pingla or Sushma, Ganesh ji treads where devotion amalgamates with a strong character.
